Itinerary

Day trip From Marrakech To ait Ben Hadou Kasabah

We will depart this morning from Marrakech at 8:00 am in the morning and start travelling to Ouarzazate via the Tichka Pass (2260m) the highest road pass in Morocco. The panoramic views of the High Atlas Mountains and magnificent landscapes, scenery peppered by small Berber villages typical of the region. We will visit the Kasbah of Telouet which was occupied by the Pacha Glaoui during his reign and is frequented by Moroccan travellers. It sits in the village of Telouet nestled outside the Onilla Valley. The Harem and reception hall areas give one a good idea of the former luxury in which El Glaoui lived, as well as a look at the Andalusian style of decorating. However, the older parts of the Kasbah are in complete ruins, making it difficult to see properly. Walking through the crumbling passageways is like walking through a maze and some have gotten lost exploring the dilapidated Kasbah. We visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Bendaddou. This Kasbah is perhaps the most impressive and well-preserved fortress cities in Morocco. Built on a hilltop, Ait Benhaddou inspired many movie makers such as the Gladiator or Lawrence of Arabia were filmed here. The view from the upper heights of the Kasbah is awe inspiring and worth the required climb through winding, narrow streets.. Our travel continues to Ouarzazate, which marks the beginning of the Sahara desert, yet there are no dunes in Ouarzazate. You will Visit Taourirt Kasbah. This former Glaoui residence, situated on the edge of the town, on the road to Morocco Sahara desert, is considered to be one of the most beautiful kasbahs of Morocco. It consists of a maze of luxury apartments, simple clay houses and crenelated towers, which are lavishly decorated with geometric motifs. Part of the fortified village is open to the public.

After some time at leisure for a cup of mint tea or coffee, drive back to Marrakech later in the afternoon while crossing the High Atlas Mountains.

Your Full day trip from Marrakech to Ouarzazate and Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou will end late in the afternoon by a drop off at your hotel or in the city center.
