Ride a camel to watch an amazing sunset and spend a magical night in Merzouga luxury desert camp. The following day we’ll travel from Merzouga to Fes making stops for a quick watch of Ziz gorges, Cedar Forest of Azrou, Ifrane then to Fes.

3 Days Desert Tour Marrakech To Fes Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – Tizi N’tichka – Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah – Dades & Roses Valley
Our tour guide will pick you up from your hotel/riad at 8 am to begin your Marrakech to Fes desert tour 3 days. We will travel to Dades Gorges through the Atlas Mountains, Tizi n’tichka pass (2260 m), and Thousands of Berber villages.
Numerous breaks will be made along the way to take pictures. Visit the famous Kasbah Ait Ben Hadou declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986, which was also served as a set for various Hollywood films like “Gladiator”,” Lawrence of Arabia” and some shots of the famous series “Game of Thrones”…etc.
We will have lunch at one of the restaurants.
Our next stop on our 3 days tour Marrakech to Fes, will be at Ouarzazate where we will discover the scenery of a city where many blockbuster movies have been filmed.
We will pass over the magnificent Oasis of Skoura and the Rose Valley stretching along the M’Goun River (known for its yearly rose festival and cosmetic products ) going over the Valley of Dades to reach our hotel with stops to enjoy beautiful views. Arrive at our hotel in Dades in the afternoon, dinner, and overnight.
Day 2: Dades Gorge – Tinghir – Tinjdad – Erfoud – Sahara Desert (Merzouga)
After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive from Dades Gorges to the Erg Chebbi Sahara desert. Berber villages along the road, you will be enjoying the Todra valley full of palm trees before we arrive at Todra Gorges the most popular rock climbing destination in Morocco, will have a short walk through its grey and pink canyons, after that, we will deviate into The Desert pass trough Tinjdad, Touroug where we’ll have lunch, then Erfoud in which we’ll feel the beginning of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet, we continue to Merzouga Sahara desert where your guide and camels are waiting to carry you, the luggage will be loaded in a 4×4 car transported to the tents in the desert, you can enjoy a camel ride over the sand dunes to watch an amazing desert sunset. After reaching the Camp, you will be welcomed with a glass of tea, you be shown to your private tents.
After a delicious Moroccan dinner, a fire will be lit by local nomads playing their drums under the starry night of the Sahara desert.
Day 3: Merzouga – Ziz Valley -Midelt -Azrou -Ifrane – Fes
It’s recommended to wake up early morning to watch the sunrise from the top of the Chebbi sand dunes. After you’ll have a Berber breakfast and take shower in the camp, you will ride the camels or a 4×4 as you wish leaving the dunes behind. We’ll depart to Fez via the Ziz Valley Gorges, Midelt, and the middle Atlas Mountains, we’ll stop to see the wild monkeys on the cedar forest of Azrou, late afternoon we arrive at Fes, where we will transfer you to your accommodation or the airport with unforgettable stories and memories in your mind.

An amazing Marrakech to Fes desert tour 3 days
We booked a private 3-day tour from Marrakech to Fes and had an amazing time with our guide, Hassan! Hassan grew up in the Sahara and thinks 40 degrees Celsius is cold, so he had so much knowledge about the area and culture to share with us. We had a great time together, he was a very safe driver and always made sure we were comfortable. We highly recommend him as a guide!
The tour was extremely well organized, all the accommodations was amazing, and the camel trek through Erg Chebbi was such a highlight. We also loved seeing the Barbary Macaques near Ifran.

After reading a few reviews my wife and I decided to book this 3 days tour to Fes. There are plenty of other operators but we made the right choice! Moha was a superb driver/guide/historian, and now a friend!
We met another lovely couple at the van and once the trip started we knew we were in good hands. Lots of driving, but lots of breaks, sights, and good conversation along the way. We read reviews that mentioned less than great meals, but this was not the case for us. Going with a small group (4) enabled us to make quick stops when we wanted, or extend our time at others. My wife and I rarely do formal tours, but we are truly pleased that we did this one.
Highly recommend this three day tour, and all the “ excellent “ reviews for this trip are well deserved!
