On this imperial cities tour, you will enjoy the tour so much, not only visiting beautiful places like Chefchaouen, magic Merzouga Sahara Desert, and Ait Ben Haddou. You will experience the Camel ride in Erg Chebbi dunes, Sunset & Sunrise, and overnight in Berber style tent- Camp under the starry sky.
Day 1: Tangier – Chefchaouen – Fes
During the first day of your 8 days desert tour from Tangier, we will meet you at the port of Tangier then cross the Rif Mountains and Tetouan city enjoying the magnificent views of the mountains until we reach Chefchaouen or Blue Pearl a beautiful village in the top of Rif Mountains. Chefchaouen’s Medina has a Spanish-style square, surrounded by many funky arts and crafts shops on the roof, restaurants, and cafes where you can have lunch before we continue our way to Fes, where we spend the night.
Day 2: Fes Guided Tour
Today, you will have an optional private Guided tour of Fes Medina with a local guide. You will explore the major attractions of the city, including the Tanneries and local souks, Moulay Idriss Mausoleum, Al Qaraouine Univesity, the Jewish Quarter, and the Batha Museum. We ensure you experience a wonderful panoramic view of the city of Fes.
Day 3: Fes – Azrou – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert
After breakfast our 8 days trip from Tangier continues towards Ifrane, with its European architecture, then we will visit Azrou as beautifully surrounded by the largest Cedar forests in Morocco. We will continue via the middle Atlas Mountains to Midelt, where you will enjoy a traditional lunch. Crossing Tizi n Talghemt pass, we will descend into a desert plain along the Ziz valley, stopping for panoramic views to Erfoud ( known for fossils and yearly festival dates market), we arrive in Merzouga in the afternoon, you’ll be greeted with a glass of mint tea before you start your camel ride to enjoy a romantic view of the sunset and spend a night in the desert camp with Berber music under shining stars after having dinner. Wake up early in the morning in order to watch the sunrise, then take time for a hot shower and breakfast in the open air at the camp. After you will go back either on camels or by 4×4.
Back on the asphalt roads, we start to Boumalne Dades, visiting the weekly local market of Rissani. Then we leave for Tinghir and the stunning Todra Gorge the highest narrowest gorges in Morocco (carved from the red rocks of the landscape by a river), there you will take a short walk through its high canyons.
In the afternoon we’ll drive through the Dades Valley where we will end our day spending the night in a nice hotel, dinner, and overnight.
Day 4: Explore Merzouga Area – Erg Chebbi
Today you will visit the best of the Merzouga desert, with its black volcanic rocks, passing through small villages, where we will stop to listen to some Saharan Music in Khamlia village. In addition to that, we will visit nomads who feel so happy to share their lifestyle with the visitors. Depending on what time of year you visit, you may have a visit to the seasonal lake of Merzouga (Dayt Sriji Lake). Following this, you will visit Rissani to explore its large souk, ksours, and kasbahs, have a traditional Berber pizza for lunch, you will also have the option of an ATV tour in the dunes. The night is spent at the hotel at the dune line.
Day 5: Merzouga – Todgha Gorge – Dades Valley
After breakfast, you meet up with your driver and then depart to Erfoud, which is known for its fossils and geology, we drive through beautiful palm tree groves before stopping for lunch and a short walk in the stunning Todra Gorge. A stream runs through the center of the impressive rocky gorge, and you will be amongst local gardens and towns.
After a walk, we head on to our stopping point Boumalne Dades, where we relax and have dinner in a hotel.
Day 6: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ven Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast in the hotel, continue our 8 day trip from Tangier traveling through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat M’gouna and Ouarzazate. This route through Dades Valley is the way of the thousand kasbahs. We will visit the Cinema city of Ouarzazate and also Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah (the UNESCO heritage site), the largest Kasbah in Morocco, built by T-Hami El Glaoui. Then we will drive across the High Atlas mountains, you will enjoy the panoramic view and attractive Berber villages along the way till we reach Marrakech where we stay overnight in a local hotel/riad.
Day 7: Marrakech Sightseeing
After breakfast at your hotel, we will start a guided tour to discover Marrakech with a local guide.
Called “the red city” because of the color of its walls and filled with gardens, on this day you will visit the Menara Gardens, the Saadian Tombs, the Majorelle Gardens, the Bahia Palace, and the impressive Koutoubia Mosque with its famous minaret built by the Almohads. After lunch at a local restaurant near the famous square, you will walk through the souks (markets) enjoying the art of handicrafts and you can buy souvenirs. In the afternoon,, you will have free time to discover the city by yourself.
Day 8: End Of Your 8 Days Desert Tour From Tangier
Today, we will make sure to get you to the airport, based on your voyage schedule, here we will wish you a safe flight and thank you for choosing our company.
