The Itinerary Of The 2 Day Sahara Desert Tour From Fes To Merzouga

Day 1: Fes – Azrou – Merzouga Desert & Overnight In Sahara Desert Camp

A private driver will pick you up from your hotel in Fes at 8 AM and start your 2 days Sahara desert tour from Fes to Merzouga. Drive south over the middle Atlas mountains, we will stop in Ifrane known as the Switzerland of Morocco, pursuing Azrou the famous Cedar forest where you can enjoy and play with the little monkeys. The next destination in our desert trip would be Midelt, where you can have a delicious lunch, then we will drive through the Ziz valley to admire the panoramic views and scenery of the palm oasis.
The drive continues to Erg Chebbi dunes passing by Aoufous and Erfoud (famous for fossils and dates) if you want to visit a local fossil craft workshop. Arrive at the edge of the dunes take a camel with a guide, and have overnight in the middle of the dunes.

Day 2: Merzouga Sahara – Fes

We will wake up early in the morning to enjoy a magnificent sunrise from the top of the dune in the Sahara Desert, then have breakfast and take a shower, you will ride a camel back crossing the spectacular Erg Chebbi desert to the starting point. Later on, we will leave Merzouga to Fez with stops along the way for photos and panoramic views, arrive in the afternoon to Fes, transfer to your accommodation, and end the Morocco desert tour from Fes.

Unforgettable Adventure: Fes to Merzouga Desert Tour & Back in 2 Days

We did the 2-day trip from Fes to Merzouga with Omar and it was fantastic! Our driver was punctual, friendly and informative throughout the entire journey. We stopped at various sights along the way and the scenery was breathtaking. Once we arrived in the desert, we rode camels to the campsite where we were treated to a delicious dinner and entertainment. The accommodation was comfortable and clean. We also got to see a beautiful sunrise in the desert before heading back to Fes. Viajes Morocco was great to work with, they were responsive to our inquiries and made the whole process easy. We highly recommend this tour!

They solved all our problems in Morocco

We had to choose just one option, but actually, Omar and his team organized almost all our tour in Marocco: airport pick up, a guided tour in the Fes Medina, a trip to Chefchaouen, and 2 days trip to the desert (wonderful!). And then we were supposed to rent a car and continue the trip by ourselves, but everything went so well with them that we decided to go with them to Marrakech and then Essaouira. All their drivers are great and Omar is simply a problem solver: you want to go somewhere and you don’t know how? You want to rent a car but you can’t find one? Just ask him and he will give you a solution in 5 minutes with a smile.

2 days from fes to Sahara desert 

Everything in the tour is so great. Our driver/tour guide Hassan has great stable driving skills and he is nice and knowledgeable. The camp have good service and food. The rooms are big with nice view. The view among the tour are excellent and we know the history of the places. Definitely will join this tour again when I come to Morocco next time!
