Itinerary: 14 Days Morocco Tour From Tangier To Desert – Imperial Cities
Day 1: Tangier – Asilah
You will be picked by your driver from Viajes Morocco from your hotel, airport, or harbor to start our 14 days Morocco tour from Tangier, part of the morning to know the city. Known as the door of Africa, then we head to Asilah, before visiting the Caves of Hercules. This is where the mythical figure of Hercules rested after performing his 12 tasks. Day 4: Casablanca – Essaouira
After breakfast we will continue bordering the Atlantic, enjoying a beautiful coastal landscape to the city of Essaouira or Mogador as the Portuguese colonization used to call it. The town has now extended beyond its ancient walls but is still small enough to explore. There’s a broad, sandy beach in front of the medina, blue doors and window frames abound in Essaouira as do art galleries, Jewellery stalls, and other handicraft stalls. Is the perfect place to enjoy some rest and relaxations.

Day 5: Essaouira – Marrakech
After breakfast a trip will take us to the famous city of Marrakech via the Chichawa, including a visit to the Argan Oil cooperative for which the area is very famous, so that you get explanations of how this rare oil is used and produced and then continue our way to the red city of Marrakech and if lucky you will take funny pictures of goats climbing Argan trees. We will spend the night in a local hotel in medina.
Day 6: Guided Marrakech City Tour
After breakfast, we start our journey sightseeing the city of Marrakech, it was founded in the XII century by Almoravidian dynasty. We will insist on seeing all the important cites and historical heritage. You will visit Badi Palace, Saadian Tombes, Majorelle Gardens, Koutoubia Tower.
End the morning by walking through the medina alleys, getting a chance to admire all of the different artisans performing their crafts before arriving at the famous place called Jamaa El Fna square, you will be delighted by local dancers, snake charmers, and singers. Day 7: Day Trip To Ouzoud Waterfalls
Ouzoud Falls also known as Cascades d’Ouzoud, 110 meters high, is located about 150km northeast of Marrakech, in the province of Azilal, the Falls are fed by the Bin El Ouidane Reservoir, our main purpose on this excursion is showing you the best of what it has to offer such as walking trails, tourist-friendly places, relax and you can watch the monkeys that inhabit the area, playing among them.
Day 8: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Boumalne Dades
After delicious breakfast, we will go Dades valley, crossing the port of Tizi N-Tichka (2260m) making stops in panoramic views of beautiful landscapes with different colors and the small Berber villages along the way, we will have free time to visit the old Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, famous for being the stage of more than twenty films, like Babel, Game of Thrones… Afterward, we continue the road to Ouarzazate the Hollywood of Africa in which we will visit the Taourirt Kasbah before continuing our way to Dades Gorges. Accommodation in Dades Valley and dinner at a charming hotel.
Day 9: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga
After breakfast at the hotel, we will continue our 14 days Morocco tour from Tangier, driving from Dades gorges to Erg Chebbi dunes, we will pass through Todgha Gorges which are series of limestone river canyons near the city of Tinghir, it is an ideal place for walking and exploring on your own, then we will continue our way to Merzouga (Erg Chebbi) via the villages of Tinjdad, Jorf and Erfoud which marks the beginning of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet, to join the unique dunes of Morocco. Dinner and overnight in a hotel at the foot of the dunes.
Day 10: Merzouga – Sahara Tour 4×4 – Visit The Nomads – Merzouga
Today, you will take a tour around the dunes Erg Chebbi by 4×4 to discover the Sahara desert attractions, in which you will visit the village of Khamlia, people from Mali, where you will enjoy the beautiful concert of Gnawa music while savoring a delicious tea. Furthermore, you will visit where the nomadic families of the area live, oasis wild in the middle of nowhere. Then back to the hotel.
In the afternoon, you will Camel trek through the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, until you reach the heart of the desert to contemplate the beautiful sunset, where you will enjoy the total silence and calmness, also enjoy fresh dinner under the stars enjoying the desert music played by the camp staff. Overnight in a nomadic desert camp.
Day 11: Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt – Fes
You’ll wake up early to see the spectacular sunrise over the dunes, then ride your camels back to Merzouga hotel where you will have shower and breakfast, then leave for Rissani (the old capital of Morocco), where we will walk at the most traditional and authentic souk in Morocco, traded with all kinds of handicrafts, food, and animals. We continue via Erfoud, a fossil-related village, past the panoramic view of Ziz valley with its more than 19,000 palm trees, the port of Tizi-n-Talghomt. We will stop for lunch and take memorable photos with monkeys in the Cedar forests of Azrou before arriving in Fez, the cultural capital of Morocco.
Day 12: Fes Sightseeing
After breakfast in your riad, you will start a full-day tour with a local guide to visit the Medina of Fez, the most ancient of the imperial cities, founded in the 808 as the first political religious and cultural capital. Our local guide will take you all around its secrets and supply you with enough information about this holly town, you will visit historical, cultural traces, heritage sites, enjoying walking in the narrow streets of the old medina, we will insist on seeing the important sites such as the Royal Palace, The old Qaraouine University, the Jewish Palace, the Tanneries and the Najjarine fountain. In the afternoon, we will drive to experience an amazing panoramic view of the whole Medina of Fes. Accommodation in charming riad.
Day 13: Fes – Chefchaouen
After your breakfast, we will start traveling to Chechaouen via Meknes, the Ismaili capital of Morocco, where you will be able to see the fascinating gate Bab Mansour (built by the sultan My Ismail), and Volubilis a preserved Roman ruins dating to 225 BC, where you will have a guided tour of the site and learn a lot about the Roman Empire. From here we will move towards the famous “blue city”, Chefchaouen, where we will spend the night. Accommodation in a charming riad.
Day 14: Chefchaouen – Tangier
After breakfast, you will take a quiet morning to explore Chechaouen, the white and blue washed walls of the medina and the markets that offer some unique native handicrafts. Chefchaouen is a fantastic destination for photography with its wonderful views of the Rif Mountains. In the early afternoon, we will travel down the mountains to Tangier, there we will drop you off in the port or airport and our memorable trip will unfortunately end.
